Wild-Card Weekend

After all of these really cool College Bowl games, who in their right mind would want to watch a football game that actually means something? Personally, I couldn’t tear myself away from watching the “Lost” season 1 box-set so I haven’t watched a single minute of college football in 2007…other than highlights. But that’s just me.
Anyway, tomorrow heads up the first day of the NFL’s famous Wild-Card Weekend….I think we’ve got some pretty intriguing matchups, here’s a look at tomorrows games
Saturday 4:30 pm- NBC

Kansas City: 9-7 @ Indianapolis 12-4 Gabs Take: This game has gotten a lot more interesting thanks to the Colts recent (recent being this year) inability to stop the run.  (Insert funny joke about someone or something running over the Colts HERE) Storyline? Larry Johnson vs. the Colts rush defense. I think LJ will have a good day, maybe even get a touchdown or two, but the Colts are a different team at home, (undefeated) and the Chiefs are a different team on the road (3-5). The Chiefs had better run the ball a lot or Trent Green might get his 378th concussion from one of the Colts speedy ends. All that adds up to a pretty close game, and probably a fair amount of offense. If this were anything but a first round game, I’d pick Kansas City, but that’s not the case. Remember, everyone thought Cincinnati would run all over Indy as well. I like the Colts in this one…..lets say:
Colts 31 Chiefs 23Â (Despite my pick, I’ll still be pulling for Kansas City)
Dallas 9-7 @ Seattle 9-7 Gabs Take: Man, this is a completely weird game to call. I’ve been going with my heart these past few weeks in picking Dallas to win. Now this week I feel I should pick Seattle, but I have a feeling it will backfire on me. That being said, I’m taking Seattle. Honestly, Dallas sounded like a dumptruck backing up as they limped into the playoffs, I just don’t see them getting any momentum playing at Seattle. Yeah, I know the Seahawks are all banged up, but the Dallas defense can’t stop anyone the past few weeks. Swiss cheese defenses seem to be a theme tomorrow, go figure.
Seahawks 27Â Cowboys 17
We’ll have previews for Sunday’s games up tomorrow
